A sloping town garden behind a Victorian house in Berkhamsted, dug out and rebuilt on new levels with a porcelain terrace, rendered raised beds, timber posts for a deck and a new lawn.
The garden started as tired lawn, old steps and overgrown beds on a slope. We cleared it, dug out to new levels and took the spoil away, then built the raised beds and retaining walls that hold each level in place.
Pale porcelain paving runs from the back of the house to the lawn, with steps between the levels. Timber posts went in for a raised deck by the house, and the lawn was laid last on a prepared, levelled base.
